Notice to Competitors
The USGA Rules will govern play, the DGT Hard Card, the Conditions of the Competition, and this Notice to Players. Unless otherwise stated in the Rules of Golf, the general penalty for violating a local rule is the penalty
TEES TO PLAY
All play will be from the STITCH Golf tee markers.
OUT OF BOUNDS
Out of bounds is defined by:
The course side of white stakes at ground level, white lines, the course side at ground level of chain link fence behind #1 green, right of #7, and right of #11, the course side of the road right of #3. The driving range is NOT out of bounds. The range fence to the left of #18 does not define out of bounds.
DROPPING ZONES
The following dropping zones may be used as an additional option under the applicable rule:
#2: Use the nearest drop zone available for the following:
a) when taking relief for the penalty area between the blue stakes.
b) when taking relief from the cart path (not in a penalty area) between the blue stakes.
#9 fairway: use the nearest drop zone not nearer the hole for the following:
a) for a ball that comes to rest in the penalty area between the green stakes.
b) for interference from the cart path and ground under repair adjacent to the cart path beyond the green stake
#9 green: use the drop zone when taking relief from the penalty area or cart path between the blue stakes.
#12 green: Use the drop zone when taking relief from the penalty area behind the green between the blue stakes.
#18: Use the drop zone short right of the green when taking relief from the penalty area right of the putting green.
Ignore all other drop zones.
OBSTRUCTIONS
- The range fence to the left of #18 is an immovable obstruction and does not define out of bounds.
- Mulch paths connecting to cart paths are part of the path.
- Cart control wooden posts and green stakes are movable obstructions.
- Buried stones and rocks adjacent to cart paths are part of the obstruction.
- Stakes and ropes supporting trees are immovable obstructions. Relief is from the stakes and/or ropes, not the tree itself.
- Bleachers, green side fans, and the directional pole behind #7 green are temporary immovable obstructions.
RED PENALTY AREAS ADJACENT TO CART PATHS
If a ball enters a red penalty area adjacent to a cart path, the two club-length option from the Red Penalty Area will most likely be on the cart path. If the player proceeds with this relief option under a penalty of one stroke, he must drop a ball on the cart path if it is within two club lengths. Once the ball is in play, a player may then take relief from the cart path as a separate relief option if interference exists.
PLAYING TWO BALLS
If you are in doubt about a ruling and a rules official is not immediately available, please play two balls under Rule 20.3c, making sure to report the result to the committee before returning the scorecard, regardless of the outcome.
PACE OF PLAY
A round of golf is meant to be played at a prompt pace. Groups out of position and over the allotted pace time will be warned that individuals in the group are being timed. A stroke should take no more than 40 seconds.
BATHROOM CODE
The bathroom code is 13579# to access bathrooms on the course at #4 tee, #6 tee, and #15 tee.
CELL PHONES AND RULINGS
The use of cell phones during play is prohibited except in emergencies, when viewing the leaderboard, posting scores, or when a ruling is needed. In case of a ruling, call the Drip Golf rules hotline at 910-415-7363. A rules official will be dispatched to your location.
